The past two days i have spent with the most beautiful people i have ever met. There isn't one thing i would change about them. The children of CPO are kind, loving, caring, talented, and they have faces that are to die for. To raise money, the orphanage travels and puts on shows consisting of dancing, singing, and theater. They put on one of these show just for us and it was so incredible how young and talented these children are.
I know i have only been there 2 days now but i already have my secret favorites. The first of my favorites is Sreyneath, who is my favorite of all favorites. This girl is the most talented, open hearted, gorgeous girl you will ever meet! I love everything about her. She is the lead dancer for the shows and her every move is so graceful and poised. It's hard for me to put into word how highly i think of her and how much i love her. My other favorites are Nyrin and Ja-heng. These two boys constantly keep me laughing, with their little conversations and cute laughs. Nyrin is 5 years old and Ja-heng is 6. They both look about half their age because of being so undernourished.
At the orphanage we spend time doing things like de-lousing the kids, picking up the never ending piles of trash, cleaning the most horrific bathroom i have ever witnessed, and of course playing with the kids. While de-lousing the kids, there was one little girl who had lice so bad that they were eating away at her scalp and creating open sores. We tried our best to get most of it out with out hurting the poor girl's head too badly but it was defiantly a challenge. Aj and I were chosen to do the job of cleaning there bathroom, which isn't really a bathroom just a hole in the floor with some tiles around it. Lets just say i will think nothing of cleaning my own bathroom ever again.
Though out these past 2 days we have been looking for things around the orphanage that need to be fixed. We found many things. Some of the current projects we have going on are getting running water at the orphanage, extending the roof s when it rains at night the kids don't get wet, and keeping the orphanage clean and free from trash. All of these were things made possible with your donations.
Towards around 3:00pm, when the heat is overwhelming, I sit in the orphanage's broken down tuk tuk and have a mini dance party with some of the older boys. It makes me smile when i see how happy they get when i play lady gaga for them. I love making them smile.
Being in Cambodia makes me realize how much we take for granted and how awful we treat one another. It defiantly makes me think about how i will treat others when i get back home. Till tomorrow my friends! I love and miss you all! Thanks for all of the support you have given me to make all this possible!! <3
